An 8 page article critique. One of the most difficult nursing tasks is caring for patients with serious or terminal illness. Nurses involved with this level of care have to be both involved and caring, but also sufficiently detached as to avoid emotional burnout. In their qualitative study, Blomberg and Sahlberg-Blom (2007) addressed how nurses cope with the day-to-day stresses of offering care with these care difficult care settings.
